About the Vessel

One of the most famous and tragic of all vessels, RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner operated by the White Star Line that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early morning hours of 15 April 1912. She struck an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, more than 1,500 died.

About the Model

This model was built for The Mariners’ Museum’s display for the 2012 recognition of the one-hundred-year anniversary of the sinking. It’s Revell kit and largely assembled per kit instructions. Some small parts e.g. turnbuckles, cables, lifeboats, were altered or replaced.
