About the Vessel
Using a spar torpedo mounted on Picket Boat No.1, Lt. William Cushing and his crew succeeded in sinking CSS Albemarle at Plymouth, North Carolina, on the night of 27 October 1864.

Modeler’s Notes
If you look into the bins on either side of the boiler, you will see the coal, plus the shovel I made to go with it. I used model railroad coal for the model. The ammunition boxes and hardtack boxes were scratch built as were the implements for the boat howitzer.
