About the Model
This is a Mamoli kit with the following modifications
- builder-supplied mahogany and ebony for second planking, and cherry for deck furniture
- staircases, ship’s boats, cheeks and rails scratch built
About the Vessel
Following the end of the French monarchy, the ship was renamed “La republicain” in 1792.
While leaving the French harbor of Brest in 1794, she ran aground and was destroyed by a hurricane several days later.
