About the Model
Mary was the first [glossary_exclude]Royal[/glossary_exclude] Yacht of the [glossary_exclude]Royal[/glossary_exclude] Navy. She was built in 1660 by the Dutch East India company, purchased by the City of Amsterdam, and gifted to King Charles II. She sank after striking rocks off Anglesey in 1675.
