About the Vessel
Prince de Neufchatel was privateer brigantine, built in New York by Adam and Noah Brown in approximately 1812. She was noted for her speed. The British finally captured her in December 1814 when her mast sprung during a chase. But due to an accident during docking, she was never bought into the British navy. She was broken up in 1815.
