McLean is, or was, a model engineer with a home workshop where he probably built live steam loco’s and the like ( I belong to the Toronto Society of Model Engineers). In chapter form he covers 88 subjects ranging from setting up a shop through all manner of operations. All are easy to understand. These subjects were originally articles he wrote for magazines such as “Live Steam” or from the Scrapbox (published in The Home Shop Machinist. This column was written for the novice and experienced machinist.
