About the Vessel

USS Arizona was a United States Navy battleship launched in the 1915.

Arizona was bombed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941. A bomb detonated in a powder magazine, causing a violent explosion that sank the ship with the loss of 1,177 officer and crew. The USS Arizona Memorial, which stands over the wreck, was dedicated on 30 May 1962.
